Welcome to the Radar Operations Center

The mission of the Radar Operations Center is to provide centralized radar operations support, field assistance, software maintenance, engineering and special-level hardware support for the WSR-88D units deployed by the Department of Commerce, Department of Defense and the Department of Transportation.

The Radar Operations Center has specific branches that support this mission:

Engineering Branch
Provides life-cycle Hardware, Software, Systems and Radar Product Improvement support to sustain reliable and accurate data.
Field Requirements Branch
Provides input and analysis of existing and emerging technologies related to weather radar data algorithms and product display.
Operations Branch
Provides continuous, expert-field support, worldwide depot-level maintenance and full-cycle testing of modifications prior to deployment.
Program Branch
Provides baseline Documentation, Hardware and Software configuration management items for project deployment.
